Police Likely to Drop Drug Case Against Actor Shine Tom Chacko
A Malayalam actor named Shine Tom Chacko was involved in a drug case in April.
Police raided a hotel and Chacko ran away.
Later, police took his blood and hair samples to test for drugs.
The test results showed no drugs in his body.
Now, police think they might have to close the case because there is no proof that Chacko used drugs.
Chacko's family said he was getting treatment for drug problems.
This is not the first time Chacko has been in trouble for drugs; he was acquitted in a similar case in 2015.
Police raided a hotel in Kochi on April 16 and found Shine Tom Chacko, who fled the scene.
Chacko's blood and hair samples were collected for chemical analysis, which found no traces of drugs.
Police registered a case under the NDPS Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 238.
Due to lack of scientific evidence, police are likely to file a report to close the case.
Chacko's relatives stated he was undergoing a de-addiction program in Bengaluru.
