West Bengal to Revamp School Curriculum Under NEP 2028
West Bengal is changing its school system to match a national plan called NEP.
Starting in 2028, new lessons, books, and tests will be used.
Teachers will focus more on skills like problem‑solving instead of just memorizing facts.
Schools can choose their own uniform colours, but they can’t use a certain state logo.
The state also made a deal with a national school program to help kids who move to new places keep studying.
West Bengal will overhaul school curriculum, textbooks, and assessment from 2028 under NEP.
Reforms aim to shift to skill‑based, competency‑driven learning with semester‑based evaluations.
No uniform colour will be mandated; schools may keep blue‑and‑white but cannot use the “Biswa Bangla” logo.
The state signed an MoU with NIOS to ease migration of students and offer flexible schooling.
Interim changes will be limited; a syllabus committee will decide detailed content before 2028.
