Audit Flags Over INR 300 Crore in MPTBC Education Dues

The Madhya Pradesh Text Book Corporation provides free school books and other learning materials.

Two government education agencies have not yet paid the corporation more than Rs 300 crore.

This means the corporation cannot use that money and has also lost interest it could have earned.

An audit found that more than 100,000 books had become old, useless, or impossible to sell.

Those books were worth about Rs 57.7 lakh.

The corporation also had more than Rs 35 crore in advances that had not been properly settled.

Auditors said required security deposits were not being collected.

They also said important registers, vouchers, and bank records were not provided for inspection.
