Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan said people need help staying healthy for longer lives.

He made the remarks at a national cardiology conference in Kochi.

He said unhealthy food habits and lifestyles are contributing to diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

Doctors and governments should focus on preventing heart disease and finding it early.

Keralam also needs to prepare for more older people.

Healthcare should help people remain healthy and productive, not only treat them after they become sick.
