Jailed J&K MP Announces Hunger Strike Over Delhi Blast
A politician from Jammu and Kashmir named Engineer Rashid is in jail.
He was arrested a long time ago for money problems.
Now, he is sad about people who died in a car explosion in Delhi.
He is also worried that young and educated Kashmiris, like doctors, might be getting involved in violence.
Because of this, he has decided to go on a hunger strike for two days inside his jail cell.
He wants to show that killing people is wrong and that Kashmir cannot afford to lose more of its young people.
He hopes to convince young Kashmiris to choose peace instead of violence and asks everyone to give peace a real chance.
Jailed J&K MP Sheikh Abdur Rashid (Engineer Rashid) will begin a two-day hunger strike in Tihar Jail on Wednesday.
The strike is a response to the deadly Delhi car blast and reports of Kashmiri youth involvement.
Engineer Rashid was arrested over five years ago on money-laundering charges.
His letter to prison authorities expresses concern over educated Kashmiris turning to violence.
The MP aims to mourn victims, condemn violence, and appeal to Kashmiri youth to choose peace.
