Mumbai Police Deny Cockroach Janata Party Shivaji Park Protest

The Cockroach Janata Party wanted to hold a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

The protest was planned for October 2 from 3 p.m.

to 9 p.m.

It was meant to protest against the Election Commission.

Mumbai Police said the event could not take place there.

Police referred to court rules limiting how Shivaji Park can be used.

They also said the organizers did not provide the required BMC permission.

Officials were worried about noise and traffic because the park is in a residential silence zone.

They said traffic problems could make it harder for patients and emergency vehicles to reach nearby hospitals.

The party can ask for permission to use another location instead.
