Bengaluru to Prioritize Walkability with Expanded Footpaths
Bengaluru's city government is working to make it easier and safer to walk around.
The city's leader said they will make sidewalks bigger.
They are also fixing up a busy road called the Inner Ring Road, by adding more buses, cleaning up garbage, and making it safer for people to walk and cross the street.
This is done with help from volunteers and a group called B PAC to make the city more people-friendly.
BBMP Chief Commissioner committed to improving walkability in Bengaluru.
The focus includes expanding pedestrian infrastructure like footpaths.
The announcement was made at the launch of a report on the Inner Ring Road (IRR).
A citizen-led initiative improved bus reliability, walkability, and road safety.
