NIT Durgapur Dance Video Sparks Debate Over Institutional Decorum
A short video shows two students dancing at an event said to be at NIT Durgapur.
They dance to a popular Bollywood song called “Chikni Chameli.”
A faculty member stops the music and questions the performance.
The faculty member asks whether the students had permission.
Some people online think the dance was unsuitable for a formal college event.
Others say the song was not a problem and question why the performance was allowed to start.
People also disagree about whether the issue was the music, the dance moves or the way the students were stopped.
The video does not show everything that happened before or after the incident.
It is also not independently confirmed that the clip provides the complete circumstances.
