BMC Expands Non-State Board Schools Amid Rising Demand
The BMC schools in Mumbai that teach non-state boards like CBSE and IB are very popular.
Last year, they had more than 2,000 applications for just 1,200 seats.
To help more students, the BMC is adding more classes and dividing them into morning and afternoon batches.
They are also building three new schools.
This year, there are 2,262 seats available in 22 schools.
The admissions are done through a lottery system and started on January 1.
BMC is increasing divisions in existing non-state board schools to accommodate more students.
Morning and afternoon batches are being planned to manage space constraints.
