East Coast Railway Invests Over Rs 1,000 Crore in Safety Fencing
The East Coast Railway is building fences along over 3,000 kilometers of train tracks, which will cost more than a billion dollars.
This is being done to make train travel safer for everyone.
The fences will stop people and animals from wandering onto the tracks, which can cause accidents and delays.
By keeping the tracks clear, faster trains like the Vande Bharat can travel safely at higher speeds.
This project will help trains run on time and make the entire railway system more efficient and secure.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) is investing over Rs 1,061 crore in safety fencing across 3,133 track kilometers.
The initiative aims to enhance safety, prevent unauthorized trespassing, and restrict the movement of animals near tracks.
Works are progressing in Khurda Road, Sambalpur, and Waltair divisions, covering specific sections within each.
The fencing is expected to reduce human and cattle run-over incidents, train detentions, and derailments.
The project will enable higher train speeds, including 130 kmph and beyond, safeguarding high-speed trains like Vande Bharat.
