Taiwan Boosts Defense via U.S. Pacific Command
Taiwan’s Defence Minister Wellington Koo said that Taiwan works closely with the U.S. Pacific Command, a U.S. military group, to get better weapons and training.
This helps Taiwan stay ready if China tries to attack.
China does not like these exchanges and says Taiwan is part of China.
Koo warned that if China tried to block Taiwan’s sea routes, it would hurt China’s economy and could cause big problems for its leader, Xi Jinping.
Taiwan thinks the U.S. is its most important ally for defense.
Taiwan’s Defence Minister Wellington Koo said U.S. Pacific Command cooperation is closer than many realize, boosting Taiwan’s defense readiness.
The partnership includes military exchanges at all levels, enhancing Taiwan’s defensive combat capabilities.
Taiwan views the U.S. as its most important international backer and arms supplier, despite no formal diplomatic ties.
China denounces these exchanges and warns that a maritime blockade would severely challenge its economy and political stability.
Taiwan believes a Chinese blockade would trigger heavy international sanctions and threaten Xi Jinping’s rule.
