Haryana 'Operation Trackdown': 903 criminals arrested in three days

The police in Haryana, a state in India, ran a big special project called Operation Trackdown.

They wanted to catch people who break the law in serious ways, like people who hurt others, steal, or use illegal guns.

The police worked very hard for three days, starting August 1 and ending August 3.

During that time, they caught 903 people who had broken the law.

Some of those people, 139 of them, were connected to 103 very serious crimes.

The police also caught 767 other people who were involved in different cases.

The people they caught were accused of things like murder, robbery, kidnapping, and carrying illegal weapons.

The police opened new files, called history sheets, on 13 troublemakers and updated 81 older files.

The operation started just before Independence Day, a big holiday in India, to keep everyone safe.

The top police officer, Ajay Singhal, said the police will keep working hard and will not tolerate crime.
