Jharkhand Court Frames Money Laundering Charges Against Hemant Soren

A court in Jharkhand has formally accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a land-related money laundering case.

The case involves 8.86 acres of land in the Bargai area of Ranchi.

Soren attended the hearing by video conference.

He says the accusations are baseless and incorrect.

His lawyer told the court that Soren pleaded not guilty.

Soren is the 17th accused in the case.

Charges had already been framed against the other 16 accused.

Framing charges means the case can now move toward a trial.

The court will hear the matter again on November 30.
