Hyderabad Leads Metros in Electric Vehicle Charging Growth
Hyderabad saw electric vehicle charging grow very quickly.
The data covered the first 160 days of the 2026-27 period.
Drivers made 120,982 charging sessions in the city.
Electric two-wheelers made most of the charging visits.
Electric cars used much more energy during each visit.
Charging was busiest in the evening, especially around 6 pm.
Fast chargers made car charging much quicker than regular AC chargers.
However, people using AC chargers were more likely to return within 90 days.

Hyderabad recorded a 100.6% annualised increase in EV charging sessions during the first 160 days of 2026-27.
The city logged 120,982 charging sessions and consumed 427,007 kWh during the period.
Vijayawada had the fastest non-metro growth at 712%, followed by Rajamahendravaram and Visakhapatnam.
Two-wheelers made up 78.1% of sessions, while four-wheelers used 67.3% of total energy.
DC fast charging reduced average four-wheeler charging time, but AC users had higher 90-day retention.
