Maharashtra Congress Seeks More Time for SIR Voter Claims

The Maharashtra Congress says many voters may have been left out of a new draft voter list.

It says about 2.06 crore people were marked as “ASDD – Uncollectable.”

The party wants people to have more time to check the list and file complaints.

It has asked that the deadline be moved to November 30.

Congress says the current period overlaps with the Ganesh festival, when many people travel.

It also wants voter lists to be published for each polling booth.

The party prefers physical notices instead of only WhatsApp messages.

It has asked for hearings at polling stations and easier checks for voters.

The Chief Electoral Officer has been asked to consider these requests.
