Vasavi Urban Flat Buyers Protest Delay
Many people bought flats in a housing project called Vasavi Urban in Hyderabad.
They paid most of the money in 2022 and were promised their flats by January 2024.
But the builder kept delaying, and now the flats are still not ready.
The buyers are very upset because they have to pay for their old homes and rent while waiting.
They protested outside the project, asking for their flats or their money back.
Some even said they sold their old homes or took loans to buy these flats.
The builder has been in trouble before for not giving flats on time.
The buyers say they will go to the government and courts if the builder doesn't fix this soon.
More than 200 flat buyers protested outside the Vasavi Urban housing project in Bachupally, Hyderabad, accusing the builder of betrayal and negligence.
Buyers paid 90% of the flat cost in 2022, investing between Rs.70 lakh and Rs.80 lakh per flat, but the project is still under construction.
The builder promised to deliver the flats by January 2024, then August 2025, and now the delivery date has been postponed to between December 2025 and January 2026.
Buyers claim they are facing financial and mental stress as they have to pay monthly EMIs and house rent while waiting for their flats.
The Vasavi Group has previously been penalized by TGRERA for not delivering flats in its Vasavi Lake City project, with an order to pay a 10.8% interest rate to buyers.
