2025 Christmas Dining Guide: US Restaurant Hours
Christmas is a time when many people go out to eat, but restaurants often change their hours.
Some places like McDonald’s and Starbucks will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but others like Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell will be closed on Christmas Day.
It’s important to check with your local restaurant to see if they’re open and what their hours are, because they can be different depending on where you are.
This guide helps you know which places to go for a meal during the holidays.
Many fast food chains and restaurants have reduced or location-specific hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
McDonald’s, Starbucks, Wendy’s, IHOP, Red Lobster, and select Applebee’s locations will be open on Christmas Day, though hours vary.
Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Cracker Barrel, Taco Bell, Whataburger, Texas Roadhouse, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Chili’s, and In-N-Out will be closed on Christmas Day.
Customers are advised to confirm holiday hours with their local outlets before dining in or ordering takeout.
Waffle House is known for staying open 365 days a year, including major holidays.
