Voter Registration Drives in UP and Indore
In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, there will be special camps on January 9th and 10th, 2026, to help young people sign up to vote.
These camps will be in schools and colleges.
The goal is to make sure everyone who is eligible to vote has their name on the list.
Special people called nodal officers will help make sure the camps run smoothly.
The list of voters was first published on December 23, 2025, and these camps will add any names that are missing.
In Uttar Pradesh, political parties are working hard to add the names of voters who were left out or whose names were removed from the list.
The BJP and the Samajwadi Party are both trying to make sure their supporters' names are included.
The BJP is worried about losing votes in cities, while the Samajwadi Party is concerned about voters who live abroad.
Both parties are submitting forms to add voters to the list.
Special camps for voter registration will be held on January 9th and 10th, 2026, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in higher secondary schools, colleges, and other higher education institutions.
The goal is to include the names of eligible young voters in the electoral roll based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2026.
Nodal officers have been appointed to ensure the smooth organization of the camps, and the draft electoral roll was published on December 23, 2025.
In Uttar Pradesh, political parties are actively submitting forms to enroll left-over voters after 28.9 million names were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The BJP and Samajwadi Party are particularly focused on adding voters in areas where the margin of victory was less than 10,000 in the 2022 assembly polls.
