Shivakumar warns Tamil Nadu against interference over Hanur killings

Three suspected poachers were killed in a forest area of Karnataka on August 15.

Karnataka officials say the forest personnel fired because the suspected poachers shot at them first.

They also say the personnel tried to persuade the men to surrender.

Tamil Nadu's chief minister disagreed and called the killings unacceptable and a massacre.

He asked for a detailed investigation, including a possible CBI probe.

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said Tamil Nadu leaders should not interfere in Karnataka's administration.

Opposition parties have also asked for an impartial investigation.

The dispute is making relations between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu more difficult.

The two states already disagree about the Cauvery river and the Mekedatu dam.
