AIU Official Suspended Amid Mismanagement at University Games
Imagine a big sports event where university students from around the world compete.
Some Indian officials messed up by not properly including all the athletes, leaving out coaches, and even getting the team's jerseys wrong.
Because of this, a top official has been suspended and a special team is looking into what went wrong.
Some athletes couldn't compete, and the badminton team had issues.
The Sports Ministry is now thinking about changing how university sports are organized in India to prevent similar problems in the future.
AIU joint secretary Baljit Singh Sekhon suspended due to mismanagement at the World University Games in Germany.
Mismanagement included non-inclusion of athletes, exclusion of coaches, and jersey regulation violations.
A four-member panel has been set up to probe the issues and will submit a report within 15 days.
