Ex-Minister Raises Allegations Over West Bengal Youth Voter Registration

Former Union Minister Singh has raised questions about voter registration in West Bengal.

The issue concerns a process called SIR and objections filed using Form 7.

Singh wants to know who submitted many of these objections.

He also questioned why the objections were processed when the people who signed them allegedly did not appear.

He said 16 lakh voters were left out of the electoral rolls after appeals were made against their registration.

Singh said two Election Commissioners reportedly denied approving those appeals.

He asked who authorised them instead.

He also claimed that 90% of the cases decided so far found the excluded voters eligible.
