FIH launches first-ever Youth Hockey5s World Cup to be held in Egypt · thehansindia.com

The International Hockey Federation is creating a new world tournament for young Hockey5s players.

The first tournament will happen in Ismailia, Egypt, in December 2026.

Hockey5s is a shorter and faster version of hockey.

The event gives young players from all continents a chance to compete internationally.

It was created after hockey was not included as a medal sport at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

Players and team staff will also learn about hockey skills, Olympic values, wellbeing and leadership.

Young officials and umpires will receive experience through a leadership program.

FIH says the tournament will help more young people discover hockey and support the sport’s growth.
