Gold rates surge in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vizag

Gold is a shiny yellow metal that people use to make jewelry and to save money.

In India, many families buy gold for weddings and festivals.

On August 7, 2026, gold became a little more expensive in four Indian cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

Carats tell us how pure the gold is, and 24-carat gold is purer than 22-carat gold.

A small piece of gold weighing 10 grams went up by about 150 to 160 rupees.

In most of these cities, 22-carat gold cost about Rs.

1,37,400 for 10 grams.

The prices were slightly different in Chennai, where gold cost a little more.

Silver, another precious metal, also went up, and its price was higher in Chennai too.

Gold prices change all the time, so buyers need to keep checking the latest rates.

The rates in this news were the closing prices from the day before and could change again.
