Power Bank Fire Forces KLM Flight Back to Amsterdam

Power Bank Fire Forces KLM Flight Back to Amsterdam

A KLM airplane was flying from Amsterdam to Curaçao when a small battery pack caught fire.

The fire happened in the business-class area over the Atlantic Ocean.

Crew members put out the flames quickly.

The airplane was turned around because part of the cabin was damaged.

It landed safely back in Amsterdam.

A passenger said former KLM CEO Camiel Eurlings may have been using the battery pack.

KLM has not confirmed that he was on the plane or caused the fire.

The passengers flew to Curaçao the next day on another airplane.
