Rahul Gandhi’s Pune Student Event Gets Nod With 30 Conditions

Police have allowed Rahul Gandhi’s student event in Pune to happen on August 22.

The event is called ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj,’ which means ‘voice of students.’

It will give young women a place to discuss problems they face.

Topics include education, safety, equality, exams, fees and jobs.

About 8,000 to 10,000 people may attend.

Organisers must follow 30 safety and public-order rules.

Drones, objectionable banners and certain bright lights are not allowed.

Police say separate citywide restrictions are needed because of festivals and protests, while Congress leader Pawan Khera says they could disrupt the event.
