AIADMK Demands Rs 5000 Pongal Gift
The AIADMK, led by Edappadi K Palaniswami, wants other parties to join them to remove the DMK from power in Tamil Nadu.
They say the DMK government has caused a lot of debt and is not good for the people.
The AIADMK also wants the government to give Rs 5000 to each ration card holder as a Pongal gift.
They are against changes to a government job scheme and how the costs are shared between the central and state governments.
The AIADMK had previously protested in Parliament about a different issue for 22 days.
This year, the Pongal gift included only rice, sugar, and sugarcane, which was criticized.
There is speculation that next year, ration card holders may receive Rs 3000 in cash along with the Pongal package.
