SNL Faces AI Image Allegations During Weekend Update
Saturday Night Live (SNL) is being questioned for possibly using AI-generated images in its Weekend Update segment.
During a joke about President Trump's rally, an image was shown that looked like it was made by AI.
A tool called Hive's AI detector said there's a 99.9% chance the image was AI-generated.
SNL hasn't said anything about it yet.
Some people think using AI makes the jokes less funny.
Others worry that AI might slowly make things look worse without people noticing.
SNL recently made a sketch about AI imagery, showing how it can look fake and funny.
NBCUniversal has rules about saying when AI is used in political ads, but not in regular shows like SNL.
SNL used an image in Weekend Update that appeared to be AI-generated.
Hive's AI detector gave a 99.9% probability that the image was AI-generated.
SNL did not respond to requests for comment.
Viewers noted that AI images might make jokes less funny and degrade quality.
NBCUniversal requires disclosure of synthetic media in political ads but not in regular content.
