Ukraine’s 2026 War Costs Reach $155 Billion Amid Funding Gap

Ukraine’s 2026 War Costs Reach $155 Billion Amid Funding Gap

Ukraine says it will need about $155 billion to support its war effort in 2026.

This number includes money Ukraine spends itself and the value of weapons and equipment supplied by other countries.

The country has not yet found funding for about $27 billion of its defence needs.

Ukraine plans to find about $7 billion by changing its own budget and wants partners to provide the other $20 billion.

Some money is needed soon to pay for equipment that should arrive in early 2027.

The war requires large amounts of ammunition, drones, missiles and air-defence equipment.

Ukraine must also pay soldiers and continue services such as healthcare, education and pensions.

Russian attacks have damaged businesses and infrastructure, making it harder for Ukraine to raise money.

The government is trying to fund the military while keeping important civilian services running.
