Bottled Palm Nectar Debuts in Chennai Organic Stores
AARDE Foundation in Tamil Nadu has launched bottled palm nectar, called padaneer, which is now available in organic stores.
This is the first time in Tamil Nadu that this bottled nectar has been certified by FSSAI.
To make the drink last longer, it's heated like milk, giving it a shelf life of up to 12 months if refrigerated.
The nectar is sourced from palm trees, and the process is about 1,000 years old.
They filter the lime used in the historical collection process.
Bottling is done by women from a self-help group in Pulicat, offering additional income to the community.
The product is available at Chennai Organics and Amudhu Organics, with a 330ml bottle costing ₹120.
