BLS E-Services Shares Show Apparent 50% Fall After Split

BLS E-Services Shares Show Apparent 50% Fall After Split

BLS E-Services divided each of its Rs 10 shares into two smaller shares worth Rs 5 each.

This means shareholders had twice as many shares, but each share’s price was adjusted to match.

The company’s total market value was not changed just by the split.

The shares closed at Rs 318.05 on Monday and opened at Rs 163.50 on Tuesday after the adjustment.

Some trading apps may have displayed the old price, making it look as if the stock had suddenly lost about half its value.

Once prices were adjusted, the shares moved only slightly lower, to Rs 162.90.

A stock split can make shares more affordable and easier to trade.
