Syria and SDF Agree Historic Integration Deal
The Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are led by Kurds, have made a big deal to stop fighting and work together.
They agreed that the SDF will move back from the front lines, and the government will send their troops to important cities.
Local security forces will also be combined.
The United States and France helped with the deal, and everyone hopes it will bring peace and help rebuild the country.
There are still some questions about who will control the border crossings and how the forces will be integrated, but both sides are trying to make it work.
The Syrian government and SDF agreed to a comprehensive ceasefire and phased integration, announced on January 30.
SDF forces will withdraw from front lines, and government units will deploy to the centers of Hasakah and Qamishli.
A new military division will be formed, including SDF brigades, under the authority of Syria’s Defence Ministry.
Governing bodies in the northeast will be merged with Syrian state institutions.
The United States and France mediated the deal, with the U.S. envoy calling it a 'historic milestone'.
