HKRN hub of exploitation, employment figures false: Haryana Congress chief
In Haryana, a state in India, some politicians are very upset about jobs for young people.
The government set up a special agency called HKRN to help young people find work.
The opposition Congress party says the agency is not doing its job properly.
More than 14 lakh young people signed up with HKRN, but Congress says only about 1 lakh got jobs.
Most of those people were already working before.
That means very few brand-new jobs were actually created.
Congress leaders also say workers are not getting permanent job letters or real job security.
They want the government to explain where money collected from workers went.
The party has planned a peaceful protest on August 19 to demand better jobs for the youth.
Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh accused the BJP government of turning the Haryana Kaushal Rozgam Nigam (HKRN) into a means of insecurity and exploitation of youth and employees.
Congress claimed the government's employment figures were false, noting that of around 14.63 lakh youth registered by February 2026, only 1.13 lakh were deployed, of whom 97,051 were already working employees.
The party said new employment was only 7,367 in 2024, 1,034 in 2025 and 66 so far in 2026, alleging the BJP failed to fulfil its promise of around 1.20 lakh jobs.
Congress MLA Aditya Surjewala questioned the 1 per cent service charge collected from employees since 2022, demanded a department-wise white paper, and said not a single HKRN employee had received job security benefits by May 2026.
Congress announced a dharna and protest on August 19 outside the HKRN office under the 'Yuvaon Ki Goonj' campaign, convened by MLA Ashok Arora, and separately alleged a deteriorating law-and-order situation in Haryana.
