Andhra Pradesh Clears Two Pending DA Hikes, Sets Arrears Schedule
The Andhra Pradesh government approved two increases in an allowance for government workers.
Pensioners and family pensioners will receive matching increases called Dearness Relief.
The first increase is 2.73% from July 2024.
The second increase is 1.82% from January 2025.
These changes raise the regular DA rate to 41.86% under the 2022 pay scales.
Workers and pensioners will also receive money owed from earlier months.
The older arrears will be paid in four instalments during 2027, and the newer arrears in four instalments during 2028.
The reports differ on when the higher monthly payments begin, with one saying September 2026 salary and pension and another saying the orders sanction release from the stated effective dates.
