Indian Crude Basket Nears $131 as Oil Fuels Inflation Concerns

Oil prices have stayed very high, and India’s crude basket was reported near $131.

Brent crude briefly moved close to $110 per barrel.

It later fell toward $104.

Middle East tensions and concerns about supply helped push prices higher.

Higher oil prices can make imported goods more expensive for India.

This may add to inflation concerns and affect petrol and diesel costs, although no specific fuel-price change was reported.

U.S. government bond yields also rose above 5%.

Ajit Mishra said these developments could affect companies, the rupee and overall economic growth.
