Appliance Prices Set to Rise Again From October 1

Many companies that make home appliances plan to charge more starting October 1.

Air conditioners may cost 5-8% more.

Some washing machines, refrigerators and LED televisions may rise by 3-4%.

The companies say materials such as copper, steel and aluminium have become more expensive.

Shipping costs and currency changes have also added pressure.

Some manufacturers have already raised prices, while others are still deciding.

Godrej Appliances said shops may sell older, cheaper stock through Diwali.

After that, the higher prices may be seen more widely.
