Zelenskyy Dismisses Senior Aide Amid Ukraine Corruption Crisis

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, removed a senior aide named Iryna Mudra.

This happened while investigators were examining an alleged money-laundering scheme.

They said about 150 million hryvnias may have been moved to pay bail for someone in another corruption case.

Reports said investigators searched Mudra’s office, but the reports disagreed about whether she was officially a suspect.

Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said Ukraine should find a safe and legal way to hold elections during the war.

Ukraine’s constitution currently prohibits elections while martial law is in force.

Fedorov said corruption and problems in governing were weakening the country’s war effort.

Parliament approved Yevhenii Khmara as the new defense minister.

Ukraine and Russia also exchanged 103 prisoners of war as fighting continued.
