FITE Files Complaint Against TCS for Alleged Maternity Leave Violations
A group called FITE in Maharashtra, India, has complained to the government about a big company called TCS.
FITE says TCS is not following the rules that protect women who are on maternity leave.
They say TCS is firing women during or right after their maternity leave and that the company doesn't have the required childcare facilities.
FITE wants the government to check if TCS is following the rules and to take action if they are not.
TCS hasn't said anything about this complaint yet.
FITE Maharashtra filed a complaint against TCS for alleged violations of the Maternity Benefit Act of 2017.
The complaint alleges termination of women employees during or after maternity leave and lack of crèche facilities at TCS Hinjawadi Phase 3 campus.
FITE has requested an official inspection of the TCS campus to verify compliance with labour laws.
TCS sources claim the company is associated with several crèche service providers and prioritizes female employees' rights.
No official statement has been issued by TCS regarding the complaint.
