Lloyds Metals Plans ₹1,550 Crore NCD Raise, Expands DRI Capacity
Lloyds Metals wants to borrow ₹1,550 crore by selling special debt instruments called NCDs.
The plan still needs regulatory approval.
The company also plans to make its two DRI plants bigger.
The Ghugus plant will produce 1,85,000 more tonnes each year.
The Konsari plant will produce 22,400 more tonnes each year.
Together, the plants will have more than 9,00,000 tonnes of yearly capacity.
The expansion will cost ₹190 crore and will be paid for using the company’s own funds.
The board also gave shares to an employee welfare trust under an employee stock plan.
Lloyds Metals and Energy approved raising ₹1,550 crore through two privately placed non-convertible debenture issues.
The proposed NCDs comprise one issue of ₹600 crore and another of ₹950 crore, subject to regulatory approvals.
The Ghugus DRI plant will add 1,85,000 MTPA, taking capacity to 8,15,000 MTPA.
The Konsari DRI plant will add 22,400 MTPA, taking capacity to 92,400 MTPA and total DRI capacity above 9,00,000 MTPA.
The board also allotted 1,41,969 shares to Lloyds Employees Welfare Trust under the 2017 employee stock option plan.
