Congress MLC Pradnya Satav Joins BJP
Pradnya Satav, who was a member of the legislative council (MLC) in Maharashtra for the Congress party, has resigned and joined the BJP.
She was renominated to the Legislative Council in July 2024 for a full term of six years.
She said she is joining the BJP because her workers wanted her to be part of the development agenda set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Her exit is seen as a big change and a setback for the Congress party, especially during local elections.
Pradnya is the wife of the late Rajiv Satav, who was a close friend of Rahul Gandhi, a leader in the Congress party.
Pradnya Satav resigned from her position as MLC in Maharashtra on December 18, 2023.
