Jharkhand Students Suspend Exam Protest, Give Government 60 Days

Jharkhand students protested because they believed some government job exams were not conducted fairly.

Their protest lasted 26 days and began on July 25.

On August 19, they temporarily stopped the protest.

They gave the government 60 days to solve their remaining concerns.

The government cancelled 22 exams and ordered investigations into 23 others.

The students were pleased with some of these steps but still wanted a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry.

They also postponed a planned demonstration outside the chief minister’s home.

If the government does not take concrete action, the students said they may protest again.
