UPERC Approves New Cost Data Book for UP Power Consumers
The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has approved a new Cost Data Book (CDB) for 2025.
This book sets the rates for various charges that electricity companies can recover from consumers for setting up or extending the electricity network.
The last time this book was updated was in 2019.
The new CDB includes changes to make it easier and faster to get new electricity connections.
For example, estimates won't be needed for distances up to 300 meters from the main distribution line.
There are also new options for paying for smart meters and other costs in installments.
The CDB will be valid for two years, with some costs adjusted for inflation in the second year.
