Hyundai Unveils New SUV, EV, and Pune Plant Expansion
Hyundai Motor India said it will make a new big SUV that fits in the Creta size group and will launch it during the holiday season.
They also plan a brand‑new electric car that will be sold in the Venue size group later this year.
A fire at a supplier in June slowed production, but Hyundai is catching up and expects to finish the lost cars by the second quarter.
The company is adding a third shift at its Pune factory in October 2026, which will let it make 170,000 cars a year.
Hyundai’s share of the Indian car market fell to 12.3% in the last year, but the company hopes to beat that in the next year.
Hyundai plans a new mid‑size SUV in the Creta segment for the festive season.
A dedicated electric vehicle will launch in the Venue‑size segment later this financial year.
Production loss from a supplier fire in June has been largely recovered, with full make‑up expected by Q2.
Hyundai will add a third shift at its Pune plant in October 2026, raising capacity to 170,000 units annually.
FY26 market share fell to 12.3%, but the company aims to surpass it in FY27.
