Treesa-Gayatri Win World Championships Bronze, Eye Future Success
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand won a bronze medal at the badminton World Championships.
They lost their semifinal match to China’s Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning.
The Indian pair won the first game, which made their strong opponents work hard.
China then played more patiently and attacked very quickly.
This made the Indians lose confidence and struggle to keep their rhythm.
The Chinese players also tried to involve Treesa more and keep Gayatri from controlling rallies.
Treesa and Gayatri said they learned important lessons from the match.
They are disappointed, but their medal shows they could achieve much more in the future.

The Indians secured a World Championships bronze medal, extending India’s medal streak dating back to 2011.
Treesa and Gayatri won the opening game 21-18 before China’s aggressive, patient play changed the match’s momentum.
