Piyush Pandey Named Acting DGP
Piyush Pandey, a senior police officer, has been appointed as the new acting DGP (Director General of Police) of West Bengal.
He will replace Rajeev Kumar, who is retiring.
Piyush Pandey was previously in charge of security for important people, including the Chief Minister.
There have been other changes in the police leadership as well.
Supratim Sarkar is the new Kolkata Police Commissioner, and several other officers have been given new roles.
This is happening before the state's elections.
The changes also include new roles for officers like Vineet Goyal, Javed Shamim, and Anuj Sharma.
