Ugam Celebrates 16 Years of Supporting Childhood Cancer Survivors
Imagine a club for kids who beat cancer.
This club, called Ugam, just turned 16!
It started at a hospital with just a few friends, but now has over 600 members all over the country.
Ugam helps these kids feel better by providing emotional support, helping them with doctors, and helping them make new friends.
The doctors wanted to make sure these kids had a place where they could always go back to get help and check their health.
It's like a special family that understands what they've been through!
Ugam, a childhood cancer survivor group, celebrated its 16th anniversary.
The group originated from the After Completion of Therapy (ACT) clinic at Tata Memorial Hospital.
Ugam is part of the Indian Cancer Society’s survivorship program.
The group has grown from nine members to a national network of over 600.
Ugam provides emotional support, medical follow-up, and social reintegration to survivors.
