IDF Video Alleges Child Used to Move Weapons
The Israel Defense Forces released a short video from central Gaza.
The military says it shows a Hamas militant guiding a child who was carrying a weapon.
The pair appeared to be moving toward a civilian home.
The child seemed to struggle under the weight of the object.
The IDF says the child was used to make an attack less likely.
Because a child was present, the military says it did not strike.
The IDF says this is part of a wider pattern of armed groups operating near civilians.
However, outside observers could not independently confirm who the people were or what the child was carrying.
The Israel Defense Forces released 28 seconds of aerial footage on September 27.
The IDF said the footage shows a Hamas militant directing a child carrying a weapon toward a civilian home in central Gaza.
The child appears to struggle and stagger while carrying what the IDF identified as a large firearm.
The military said it refrained from striking after identifying the child’s presence.
The identities, intentions and contents being carried could not be independently verified.
