Delhi Excise Auctions Seized Vehicles, Clears Laboratory Backlog

Delhi Excise Auctions Seized Vehicles, Clears Laboratory Backlog

The Delhi Excise Department had many seized vehicles sitting near police stations for a long time.

It auctioned more than 2,000 of them.

The auctions brought the government more than Rs 5 crore and created more storage space.

The department also finished more than 5,000 old laboratory cases.

These cases involved testing liquor samples connected to police investigations.

The laboratory’s active backlog is now said to be zero.

New reports are being prepared within days instead of sometimes taking years.

Officials say this can help police investigations and court cases move faster.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government wants to complete pending work quickly.
