Chandigarh Man Booked for Illegal Parakeet Possession

Chandigarh Man Booked for Illegal Parakeet Possession

A man in Chandigarh named Sandeep Kumar was reported to the police for keeping two Indian rose-ringed parakeets at his home.

This is against the law because these birds are protected.

A forest officer named Jatinder Singh filed a complaint after being told by a former minister, Maneka Gandhi.

The police have started a case against Sandeep Kumar for breaking the Wildlife Protection Act, which is a law to protect animals.

The two parakeets are now being taken care of by a veterinary doctor from the wildlife department.
