NSE Clearing to Launch 3-Day SLB Contracts from August 17

NSE Clearing to Launch 3-Day SLB Contracts from August 17

NSE Clearing runs the part of the stock market where people can lend their shares to other people and earn a fee for it.

Right now, these lending deals can last anywhere from three days up to twelve months.

NSE Clearing is adding a new, shorter type of deal called the R3 series.

In this new deal, the borrowed shares must be given back just three days after the trade.

Only stocks that are allowed to be traded in the Equity Derivatives Segment can be used in these short deals.

Unlike older deals, these new contracts will not be cancelled early just because a company holds its annual general meeting.

People also cannot use the special options called repay, recall, or rollover with these shorter deals.

The new R3 deals will be available starting from August 17.

This change gives stock market participants more choices for how long they want to lend or borrow shares.
