Fadnavis defends Davos trip amid criticism
Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is defending the investment deals his state signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Some people on social media and in the opposition party are criticizing the trip, saying it was a waste of time and money.
They argue that the companies involved are already based in Maharashtra, so the deals could have been signed locally.
Fadnavis, however, says that Davos is a great platform to showcase Maharashtra's potential to the world.
He also mentioned that the deals involve a lot of foreign investment, which is important for the state's growth.
He called the criticism a 'pre-planned toolkit' and said that those who are unhappy with Maharashtra's progress are spreading false messages.
The deals are expected to bring in a lot of investment and create many jobs.
Devendra Fadnavis defended the investment deals signed at Davos, calling them strategic and not mere show.
Critics, including Mumbai Congress committee chief Varsha Gaikwad, argued that the deals could have been signed locally as the companies are based in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis said that Davos provides global visibility and is an efficient venue for finalizing large-scale international contracts.
The deals involve a total investment of Rs 3.8 lakh crore and are expected to create 15 lakh jobs.
Fadnavis called the criticism a 'pre-planned toolkit' and said that those who are unhappy with Maharashtra's progress are spreading false messages.
